I don't play hybrids myself, and I often wonder if I'm missing out. Classic senior recommendation: Hybrid 3 (19-21°) replaces irons 3-4, Hybrid 4 (22-24°) replaces iron 5. For many senior golfers, the actual hit rate per 100 shots is 2-3 times higher than with the corresponding long iron — with reduced swing speed, a larger impact area instead of the narrow iron strike.

However, the hybrid has a different flight characteristic—higher, more spin, less roll. On hard summer greens it can be a helpful tool, but in the wind it's more of a hindrance. Plus: off the tee on tight holes, it's easier than a long iron, and off the ground in light rough, it's often the saving choice. And the transition to a fairway wood (W5/W7) isn't trivial.

What are you using — Loft, Brand, Application ScenariosAnd are there any clubs or distances where the hybrid clearly fails for you? I'm honestly considering whether I should add one to my bag for next year.
