DESTINATION · MALLORCA

Mallorca – the golf island for senior trips.

Mallorca has 24 golf courses in a manageable area – the most compact golf island in Europe. Short travel time, established German tourism infrastructure, year-round playability. What distinguishes Mallorca as a senior destination from mainland Spain.

MMallorca is my preferred spontaneous destination. A 2.5-hour flight from Munich or Frankfurt, a rental car at the airport, and evenings at the hotel bar. The size of the island (max. 60 miles in any direction) makes everything accessible. Senior golfers with a desire for spontaneous travel will find the least effort for maximum playing pleasure here.

Mallorca is the most compact golf destination in the Mediterranean region: 24 courses on an island area of 3,640 km², short travel time (2.5-3 hour flight from Germany), excellent German tourism infrastructure. Senior golfers benefit from the simple logistics and compact geography.

Three tips for Mallorca trips.

Rental Car Requirement

Parking spaces are distributed across the island. Rental cars for €100-180 per week are essential. Hertz, Sixt, and AVIS often have senior rates.

Choose region by travel character

Southwest (city + golf), Southeast (peace + beach), North (nature + hiking). Region shapes travel character.

March-May + September-October ideal

Peak season July/August too hot. Spring and autumn optimal: 22-26°C, fair prices, fewer tourists.

What Mallorca is not

Mallorca is the easiest senior golf destination in Europe - but it's not the most affordable. Those looking for the lowest budget will find better options in Turkey or Tunisia. Mallorca scores points for logistics and comfort, not for pricing.

THREE FIRST STEPS

How to plan your Mallorca trip in 30 minutes

01
Select region
City proximity (southwest), quiet (southeast), nature (north). Determines hotel choice and daily activities.
02
Book rental car in advance
Senior rate at Hertz, Sixt, or AVIS. €100-€180 per week. Without a rental car, Mallorca becomes logistically frustrating.
03
4-5 Green Fees as a Mix
Mix of premium (Alcanada, Son Gual) and value-for-money (Vall d'Or, Pula). 4-5 rounds in 7 days is typical for seniors — the rest is for the pool, beach, and restaurants.
