Putt Sensors — SAM PuttLab, QuintIC, and Smart Putters.
Putt sensors measure stroke path, face angle, tempo, and impact position. Three professional systems dominate: SAM PuttLab, QuintIC, and smart putters (Arccos, putter holders with sensors). What they measure and whether they are relevant for senior golfers.
MA first putt sensor test was a SAM PuttLab session with a PGA pro. Results: stroke path was 4 degrees outside, face angle 1.8 degrees closed. The diagnosis provided the reason for my constant push putts left of the hole. Three coaching instructions, four weeks of practice, quote increased from 27 to 41 percent. Sensors show what the eye cannot see.
Putt sensors measure what actually happens in the putt stroke, beyond subjective perception. SAM PuttLab and QuintIC are the two professional systems (used by PGA Tour Pros). Smart putters (Arccos sensor, Spider-X with sensor) offer entry-level options. Senior golfers with chronic putting issues benefit disproportionately.

Three Senior-Specific Putt Sensor Applications
Putters are personal. Sensors tell you what your eyes can’t see. For senior players with putting issues, they’re the most efficient diagnostic tool.

Three tips for using the Senior Putt sensor.
Pro Session with Own Devices
Before investing in a smart putter, get a SAM PuttLab session with a PGA pro. Once the diagnosis is clear, an at-home device is often no longer necessary.
Three-Circle Drill as Progress Control
After sensor diagnosis and coach correction: Three-circle drill weekly for progress checks. You no longer need sensors.
Putter fitting every 5 years
Putt-sensor-based custom fitting every 5 years (stance changes in senior age). With a PGA pro using SAM PuttLab.

What parking sensors can't replace
Putt sensors provide precise stroke data — but they do not replace the interpreting PGA pro or green-reading experience. Senior players with perfect stroke mechanics but poor green reading still sink fewer putts. Sensors are diagnostics, not therapy.
